We are a friendly and sociable 4 part choir of around 35 members of all ages and abilities, who enjoy meeting and singing together once a week. Many members live within the village of Riding Mill, but we welcome members from all over Northumberland.
We currently meet on a Monday evening in the Parish Hall in Riding Mill from 7.30 – 9.30pm. We have a lovely, warm hall, fully equipped with tea and coffee making facilities and staging. We are always pleased to welcome new members of all abilities – no audition of previous experience is necessary!
If you would like to join us for a trial, please feel free just to turn up! You are welcome to join us for 3 sessions to see how you like it before asking you to become a member, so you can really get a feel for us before committing. Many members have busy working lives and find they are not able to attend every week; we do not have any hard and fast rules regarding this. Please just come along as and when you can, we simply ask that if you plan to sing in the concert then you come to as many rehearsals as is possible for you. There is no obligation to perform in the concert if that is your wish.
We perform 2 well-attended concerts a year. Our first concert of the season is before Christmas, and the other before Easter. Although we are a choral society, our repertoire is fairly extensive, ranging from Haydn’s Creation to Bernstein’s West Side Story, Gilbert and Sullivan and a lot more in between. We are always open on what to sing next and welcome suggestions from members.
